Ok,...so just when you think that life is going to lighten up-you get a distressed phone call!!! Those of you that know me know that my track team is my home away from home. Well, after everything that happened with Dave you would think that it would be just a waiting game. But I had to make an emergency drive to Bismarck for a week.
On November 5th a friend of mine off my team passed away, his name was Chris Faller. It was sudden as well as a huge shock to us all. Chris was my age and came into the track team as a sprinter. The most noticeable thing about Faller is the fact he didnt care who you were, or what you were he was going to make you laugh. He was always smiling and happy, and it wasnt a party until Faller was there. Im not going to write much into this-but why are people so worried to tell you that they are having a hard time? ( Holly Hassler ) You learn that life is short, and can be changed or taken at any time. So talk people, and listen-you never know what is going to happen.
On a different note....
DAVID!!!
Things are going great for Dave, slow, but great!! Daves occupation therapist was describing the strength gain in his wrists. His right wrist when he arrived at Elks was a -2. And now Dave is at a +3 with his left wrist only a little behind his right.
Along with that his sitting balance is going good as well, Dave was doing should push-ups balancing on his elbows and the PT had him do 50-well the Hansen's great family friend Mike Johnston said "Dave, your a wimp, you can do more than that!" And Dave went a head and did another 25.
In the pool, Dave still has movement with his legs. It kinda makes me giggle because he is a little scared of water ( rumor has it ) after a few close calls with floating trips on the river. We hhave heard that Elks might extend his time and so we are waiting to hear about that. His family is looking at a place called neuroworks in South Jordan, UT for out-patient. The Doc up there is Dr. Dale Hull, he is a C-4 quad who is walking. People your prayers are working. Dave appreciates them all!!
